FAQ - Using the service

These example FAQ's are based on material from www.workoutofoffice.com

I can't see the Always-On Mail mailbox anywhere in my smartphone.
The reason why your Always-On Mail emails aren't visible is because you haven't installed a smartphone certificate. Request a smartphone certificate from iesupport@workoutofoffice.com.  Please unzip the file and copy the contents to a temporary folder. Then dock your phone to your desktop (using the USB cable supplied with your phone) and run the install.bat file. You should receive a message confirming that the certificate was successfully provisioned to the phone.

If the Always-On Mail inbox is still not visible, please contact your operator to enquire if you are allowed to install additional software to your phone.

I get connectivity errors 124.
Please check that you have the latest firmware on your mobile device
Please upgrade SEVEN Always-On Mail to the latest version.

Why is my phone's Sent Mails folder empty?
Depending on your ISP's service and your Always-On Mail filter settings sent mails will be either copied to your Sent Mails folder or not. Please note that sometimes you may have a sent mail folder in your desktop email client, but it does not mean that it is available for external service like Always-On Mail.

Calender entries aren't synchronized.
Always-On Mail Internet Edition synchronizes the emails in your inbox, not calender entries or tasks. To compare our different products, see the software pages at http://www.workoutofoffice.com/software

Tasks aren't synchronized.
Always-On Mail Internet Edition synchronizes the emails in your inbox, no calendar entries or tasks.

Why are my Always-On Mail account services, like 'sent to', not available?
The services are dependant on the type of email service. With POP server ONLY the 'push' and 'delete' features are available, with IMAP you get to choose for example 'sent to' folder.

I'm travelling and don't get any emails pushed to my phone.
When roaming, the operator tends to change every couple of hours, according to the local coverage. The quality of GPRS is varying a lot. In addition not all operators let you connect to port 7171, which is used for our service.

So when you're not in your home country, please select the operator manually. Obviously you should choose an operator that has the best GSM and GPRS coverage, which you can see by trying a few and checking that you can enter Internet with your phone's browser. If you can't, Always-On Mail doesn't have a possibility to function properly either.

Is there a way to force messages to use the D: drive?
It's not possible for Always-On Mail messages to use any other space apart from phone memory. The software itself can be installed on a separate memory card, but the message database can only be stored in the phone's memory.

Service stops when the device is switched off (Windows Smartphone)
Your Always-On Mail client can still connect to our service even when your device is in standby (screen turned off). It will check for new messages roughly every 15 minutes. However, it's possible to change these settings yourself: Go to your phone client's settings and then select 'Delivery'. From here you should then see a 'Customise' button. When this is selected, you will see a screen with all of the different options available. You can then simply choose which settings are best for you.
